The high-flying French side arrived in England for the refreshed format of the competition, with Covid forcing the tournament to be changed to a knockout round shootout.
And La Rochelle proved a challenge too strong for the hosts, with tries from Dillyn Leyds and Arthur Retiere, as well as well-take penalties from Ihaia West enough to advance to the last eight.
